SurfYaks
feature a simple construction that results in an exceptionally strong, lightweight hull. What looks like a simple wood boat
is in reality an advanced composite structure. The only materials you need to purchase are two 1/8" 4 x 8 sheets of luan
plywood (commonly called "door skins"), a 10' length of 1x4 pine, epoxy resin, fiberglass cloth, outfitting foam
for the seat, glue, and half inchbrad nails. Total cost: $100 - $150 depending on how many you build. A well-crafted
boat will weigh less than 20 pounds.

Was out again today 3' had a blast
was doing everything the long boarders were, I can see my self walking into a meeting and saying, " Hi there my name
is Bob and I'm a surf bum, I was in remission for 15 years but I'm backsliding", If it's ok with you I'll post my impressions
to the sea kayak technique board. Damm this boat is about the best $100 surf toy I've ever had and I'm including boards
shaped by Lopez and Barnfield.

Simple plan set. DVD goes through step by step building
process.
Great first time project! Learn and practice solid epoxy/glassing skills
before tackling an expensive kit boat. It's easy to create a overweight clunker on step 3 out of 100 despite a
30 page instruction/plan set. It will still look great, but you just won't be able to lift it to get it to the water!
If you are serious about surfing, a twenty pound kayak should be your goal.
